Charioteer was one of the first boats in the 1979 Fastnet race to indicate that she had got into trouble. Her crew fired flares at 0510 on 14th August after capsizing 64 miles from the Fastnet rock. The boat was abandoned and all 7 crew were rescued by a French trawler, Massigny
As far as I'm aware Griffin was the only OOD34 actually lost in the race, so presumably Charioteer was recovered later, however I have no further details
